Parkway Interiors is celebrating ten years of craftsmanship with the launch of PI Specialist Finishing, a brand new facility dedicated to high quality polishing & finishing in the heart of the South Coast. The new unit launches in conjunction with their new fully established in-house apprentice scheme, built to nurture the next generation of Parkway expertise and workmanship.
Celebrating 10 years of craftsmanship
2016 marks the tenth year of business for Parkway Interiors, a company founded on a passion for making bespoke and unique furniture for the luxury market. The company has gone from strength to strength in the past decade, and now boasts a repertoire of notable projects including MY Arkley, MY Turquoise and recently MY Aquila. Working closely alongside designers such as Terence Disdale, Mark Berryman, Adam Lay, Redman Whitely Dixon and H2 Yacht Designs, Parkway continue to build on their industry reputation for high quality hand-made furniture. The company ethos continues, that no project is too big or small, and any idea can become a reality.
A new facility for a new decade of Parkway
Parkway has become well known for producing some of the UK’s best quality polishing and finishing, working on many projects in the marine and high end residential markets on both exterior and interior furniture. To further build on this reputation, Parkway is now proud to announce the addition of PI Specialist Finishing, set up under the Parkway umbrella.
The offshoot company with its own purpose built facility offers a wide range of finishes including contemporary clear or pigmented lacquers, specialist paint effects, hand polishing and polyester lacquers. The new site, based in Portsmouth is now home to our team of specialist polishers, headed up by co-owner and director of PI Specialist Finishing Adrian Turner.
“I have known Trevor for many years, since the beginning of Parkway Interiors, and couldn’t wait to become part of the Parkway family when I joined the team three years ago. Our new venture together is a great opportunity for me and Parkway to expand the expertise and services that we offer our clients.”
Adrian Turner – Co-Owner and Director of PI Specialist Finishing
Apprenticeships to develop the next generation of Parkway specialism
Parkway Interiors and PI Specialist Finishing have now fully established their own in-house apprenticeship scheme to help develop and nurture the next generation of craftsman. Everyone at Parkway is dedicated to helping those enrolled on the scheme learn the skills and exceptionally high standards needed to work within the industry. Parkway works closely with local colleges to develop a practical training programme, and have already had one successful apprentice complete their four-year training with the company and join the team full-time. Currently there are two joiner and one polisher apprentices studying under the master craftsman at Parkway.
“We are always happy to expand our team at Parkway with new creative
minds, and pride ourselves on giving an apprenticeship that delivers on both skill and insider industry knowledge. We hope to continue this scheme for many generations to come.”
Angela Bradley – Financial Director of Parkway Interiors and PI Specialist Finishing
“Doing my apprenticeship at Parkway Interiors really helped me develop and refine the skills needed to work in this highly skilled industry. The years of knowledge and wisdom you find here have given me many tips of the trade that I don’t think I could find anywhere else. Now I have completely my training, I have been taken on as a full time member of staff at PI Specialist Finishing- the cherry on top of a great four years!”
Lewis Finlay – Completed four years apprenticeship at Parkway Interiors.
