OCEAN SAFETY’S ONGOING COMMITMENT TO IRC
15/11/10
Following a successful partnership with the Royal Ocean Racing Club for the last 7 years, Ocean Safety once again reconfirmed their commitment to IRC and RORC by agreeing a further two years’ sponsorship of IRC.
Ocean Safety’s range of specialist safety products and services makes them a perfect partner for the RORC’s IRC programme. Both organisations have worked closely together to promote safety at sea to all levels of racing and to ensure that safety equipment is in date and correctly serviced by qualified professionals.
IRC will continue to be known in Great Britain as the ‘Ocean Safety IRC’, which is now well into a third decade of operation as the leading international rating system for yacht racing. Ocean Safety is involved over and above the normal literature and certification and will continue with the tradition of mast stickers. Once revalidated with the Rating Office for 2011, GBR owners will receive a mast sticker and an ISAF Offshore Special Regulations check list.
SOUTHAMPTON - PLYMOUTH - GLASGOW
Charlie Mill, Managing Director of Ocean Safety, said of their continued sponsorship of IRC, “We are delighted to continue our involvement in yacht racing, and support the good work which the RORC achieve. We work closely with RORC in terms of legislation and regulations over safety equipment. We are looking forward to working closely with racing sailors at every level over the next two years.“
Note to Editors: Ocean Safety is the previous sponsor of the RORC mid-Channel racing mark and have now sponsored IRC since the beginning of 2009.
