The Ultimate stylish wearable lifejacket from
Ocean Safety – the Kru Sport Pro

Comfortable, stylish and wearable should be three givens when selecting a lifejacket for different types of water use. The Ocean Safety Kru Sport Pro waistcoat design lifejacket, not only fits these three criteria, but is also unique in design and has proven a firm favourite for yachtsmen and women this Summer.

The Kru Sport Pro is unobtrusive and lightweight, ideally suited for the wearer to be in light Summer clothing or full foul weather gear. The lifejacket features an integral sprayhood and can be either automatic or manual inflation and with or without a harness. In addition it will outperform the current 150 Newton standard, with its superior buoyancy of 175 Newtons, using the larger 38g inflation gas cylinder.

An important Winter message
The message from Ocean Safety over this Winter is to make sure that any safety kit is serviced and checked over by professionals, to ensure that all parts are in good working order for next year. It is recommended by most safety equipment manufacturers that life saving appliances, such as liferafts, lifejackets and Jonbuoy recovery modules should be serviced annually and that EPIRBs, SARTs and fire extinguishers should be professionally checked every year.

Ocean Safety will continue to sponsor IRC for the 2010 season and Charlie Mill of Ocean Safety said, “We are delighted to continue our involvement in yacht racing, and support the good work which the RORC achieve. We work closely with the RORC in terms of legislation and regulations over safety equipment and aim to offer a fresh new approach to safety at sea.

During 2010,” he continued, “We would like to increase awareness over the importance of having both personal safety equipment for the crew, such as strobes and lifejackets, in good working order as well as the boat’s equipment, such as liferafts, EPIRBs and fire extinguishers, fit to be deployed if needed. The only way to achieve this is to have safety equipment checked over and serviced by professionals during the Winter months.

Ocean Safety is exhibiting at METS from 17th – 19th November and can be found on stand number 03.304. Also on display will be the brand new range of ‘RYA tick marked’ Ocean UltraLite liferafts.
