The new ACR GlobalFix™ iPRO 406 GPS EPIRB, Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon, is now available from Ocean Safety.
The GlobalFix™ iPRO is the first EPIRB to incorporate dual GPS technology, along with a clear digital display. The system has been designed and engineered to pin-point the location faster than other EPIRBs with only an integral GPS within the unit.
When the GlobalFix™ iPRO is interfaced with the ship’s GPS, the information is stored within the unit, ensuring that the position information is transmitted in the first data
burst.
The digital display provides an instant view of the beacon’s operational activities, with a clear latitude and longitude, as well as operating instructions and tips, along with transmission bursts and battery power level. Clear instructions on a step-by-step basis are also displayed for a self test mode.
The GlobalFix™ iPRO unit is available as either a manually deployed Category II unit complete with mounting bracket or as a Category I unit in a case with a hydrostatic release mechanism.
