PERFORMANCE IS WHAT COUNTS!

Ocean Safety is to launch a new Performance Range at the London International Boat Show. Celebrating the launch of the latest addition to the range, the OCEAN UltraLite liferaft, they have produced a new catalogue, highlighting performance products for the racing or cruising yachtsman.
Also in the range, with the emphasis on comfort, is the Kru Sport Pro lifejacket, which is easy to wear, whether in light Summer clothing or full foul weather gear. All product included in the catalogue has been specially selected for weight or space saving, or ideally suited to fit with ISAF Offshore Special Regulations.
Three new EPIRBs and two PLBs, along with racing rescue knives and new lightweight harness lines have been put into the performance range, as well as different varieties of strobe and lights with the latest LED technology.
One product which is a ‘must have’ for most serious offshore racers would be the Jonbuoy recovery module. It is accepted as a direct replacement for a regular danbuoy, and a horseshoe with drogue, light and whistle as specified within the current ISAF Offshore Special Regulations and is a neat solution which can be mounted onto a pushpit, where it is stowed out of the way and quick to deploy if needed.
Ensuring that a crew know exactly what to do in an emergency is paramount and Ocean Safety are again running their Race Crew Training Courses over the Spring. Each course can be tailored towards a specific crew, when they are given vital instruction on how to use their own safety equipment on board working together as a team.
