The NEW SafeLink Solo PLB is the most compact 406 MHz Personal Locator Beacon currently on the market.
Available from Ocean Safety, the Safelink Solo represents the latest generation of ‘fast locate’ beacons with an integral 50 channel GPS, a minimum of 24 hours’ continuous operation and dual transmission on 406 MHz (the international distress signal) and 121.5 MHz (the homing frequency), this ensures that the emergency services can locate and then home in on the signal once they are in the vicinity of the active unit.
The PLB also features an SOS LED flashing light that the user can switch on to aid rescue in the dark and can operate at temperatures down to -20°c.
The SafeLink Solo is ideally suited to active watersports enthusiasts, whether sailing, windsurfing or kayaking and comes with a buoyant pouch and lanyard, as well as the option of a small belt pouch. Divers can also purchase a dive canister, which allows the Solo to be taken to greater depths so that the PLB is to hand if needed on return to the surface.
