Trend Marine, specialist manufacturers of marine glazing, has just completed the expansion of their 14 acre production facility in the UK with a new building designed specifically for packing and distribution.

The development of this new facility complies with LEAN principles that have been introduced progressively throughout the production process. Benefits include a reduced turn around for regular clients, from order to delivery, plus the reduction of lead-times for one-off product requests which come along occasionally.

The 470 square metre facility has been designed to offer more space for 'off the shelf' stock finished goods, as well as stock which has already been allocated for despatch. It will create a faster and more efficient “pull down” packing and despatch system. It also provides a covered loading bay throughout the year. Trend lorries and container traffic leave the site each day for
product delivery around the UK and Europe. Despatch systems are tailored to suit their individual requirements in the most cost effective way.
