A BIG MONTH FOR THE NEW BUILD HIGH-SPEED DAYBOAT AT DANISH YACHTS
29/07/09

DANISH YACHTS The 38m dayboat building at Danish Yachts in Skagen has moved onto the final stages, by moving from the shipyard’s composite shed into the fitting out hangar. Designed by Espen Oieno and billed to be one of the world’s most exciting and innovative high speed motor yachts on the water, build 116 is already exceeding the design and build teams’ expectations. Tank tests have already proven to be ‘better than average’ when put up against the base data of tested vessels of similar dimensions and her predicted dynamic behaviour in calm water regarding trim change, stability and spray wetness was reported as ‘superb’.

Having turned over the hull, the dayboat was quick and easy to move into her new hangar and all that was needed was one mobile crane, proving that her weight has been kept to the minimum in terms of her composite high tech construction. This has been a key element in her build to ensure that she minimises her negative impact on the environment and keeps her fuel consumption at the lowest possible level, when cruising at just under her predicted speeds of around 50 knots.

Build 116 will now be fitted out with her superstructure and luxurious interior by the in-house specialist builders and joiners, and the paint team will soon be commencing work on her exterior.
