Doyle Sails England are offering a special Autumn and Winter scheme to all owners requiring repair and laundering services whilst the boat is laid up – the ‘Doyle England Winter Makeover’.
“A stitch in time ….”
All sails and covers should be overhauled on a regular basis to ensure their longevity and to reduce risk of potentially irreparable damage. UV strips often require replacement, seams and hardware need checking plus ‘on the run’ repairs over the season should be inspected to ensure their integrity. Upgrading of hardware and re-cuts can also prolong the lifespan along with the laundering to remove abrasive salts and airborne pollutants.
Makeover Offer Scheme
Up until the end of January 2009, Doyle Sails England is offering a complete Winter Makeover on all types of sail which will initially include a complete checkover and report on the condition plus a quotation for any remedial work. If a sail is beyond reasonable repair a replacement quotation will be provided which, if accepted, will be eligible for a 15% discount under the conditions of the Winter Makeover Scheme along with a refund of the inspection charges.
Phil Bennett from Doyle Sails England said, “We see a lot of sails come in at this time of the year for servicing and feel it is helpful for owners to know when the sail has really reached its sell by date and no amount of work, or money, will extend its usefulness. There is a point reached when further expenditure is just not viable and it is far better to let this be known and that it should be replaced. By offering a 15% discount we hope it will help lessen the burden”.
