SCREEN FATIGUE DIAGNOSED AND SOLVED IN TWO EASY STEPS
14/03/2011
LAUNCHING AT IOSH 2011
Eye Science has just introduced a two-step interactive Toolkit, which can diagnose and solve the problems of screen fatigue online. Available to companies or individuals, anyone can benefit from this service to diagnose screen fatigue, which is soon to be further regulated by an EU Directive.
The results to companies are very clear. Anybody using a display screen, which includes almost all of the worldwide working population, could have their ability to work productively and performance dramatically improved, fewer says off sick, which can be directly attributable to the harmful results of screen fatigue.
Eye Science is due to launch the online toolkit at this year’s IOSH and it will provide anyone with an immediate Visual Risk Assessment (VRA) and the results. This can then be taken onto a second step to optimise the display screen for the user, by tuning the settings to substantially reduce harmful colour settings which are likely to exacerbate screen fatigue. This is done by using a combination of red, blue and green wavelengths which recalibrate the screen allowing a considerable reduction in visual distress, thus improving the ability to read the scree without tiring.
EU Regulations have covered display screens for 21 years, but the directive to all European countries will come into force in April 2011, to ensure that screen fatigue is reduced to every user. Eye Science can provide a solid platform to recognise and reduce these problems.

Other new interactive health related toolkit developments will follow shortly.
