Phil Sparks, the successful 16 year old UK Optimist sailor from Christchurch, Dorset has signed to join Lynx Sports Management.
Phil is an outstanding youth sailor with a string of proven results. He has many years of experience sailing in the International Optimist Class and has gained 1st place in the British National Championships in 2005 and 2006. This has never been achieved before.
Sailing the Optimist has given Phil considerable international sailing experience with success at many overseas regattas.
For the 2008 season, Phil has moved on to the International 420 Class, where he is showing great potential. Phil is a member of the RYA Youth Squad and, together with his regular crew Ben Platton, they have already achieved third place at the RYA Youth Championships 2008.
With his improving performance in this Class, Phil has the possibility of great future success.
His contract with Lynx Sports Management will ensure that he will be in contact with the best potential sponsors to assist his sailing programme. Many other high performance British yachtsmen have also signed contracts with Lynx, including :
