THE DEEP WATER SUPERYACHT FACILITY WITH UNRESTRICTED ACCESS FROM SOUTHAMPTON WATER
20/09/10

Now with sited helicopter landing area
Following a successful Summer with a number of prestigious superyacht visitors in for refits and emergency work, Solent Refit has very recently refurbished the pontoon system and repainted the area in their distinctive blue. The helicopter landing area has now been sited, with the first visitor arriving by air in the last two weeks.

Solent Refit has an open shipyard policy and 10,000 square metres of undercover working area for refit and repair with a full support centre and back up for projects visiting the yard. On site technical specialists are also available and the management processes for MCA Classification and survey work can be provided to achieve successful approval to regulatory standards by Yacht Project Associates, the site managers.

The facility has unrestricted deep water access from Southampton Water, and features a large capacity 1500 ton horizontal boat lift for vessels up to 70 metres in overall length. Project offices can be provided and there is ample parking for container or cradle storage; a yacht’s container can even be sited next to the yacht on the outer pontoon area. Superyacht masts can be lifted for dockside work next to the vessel and there is a quay area available to yachts for bunkering.

Solent Refit is one of the few superyacht facilities in the area able to accommodate 14 deep water service berths for vessels up to 100 metres, with direct road access to the dock. There is a short-stay visitor’s berth on the outer pontoon for vessels from 25m to 100m in overall length.
