GO, GO, GO, AT UNIVERSAL MARINA
28/11/08
With the awareness and concern for our environment forever increasing, Universal Marina has signed up with ‘The Green Blue’ scheme to ‘Go Green’ and implement a practical and simple way to recycle more leisure craft waste.
This is a positive drive to make sure that the Marina and boatyard reduce the mount of waste being sent to landfill and to reduce their negative impact on the environment.
‘Greenstar’, the recycling company, collects the waste and filters it through a MRF system (Materials Recovery Facility). Due to their impressive growth in such a short time, and a fresh approach to managing recycling and waste, Greenstar was recently awarded the prestigious ‘Company of the Year’ title at the Buckinghamshire Ambassadors’ Business Awards 2008.
Knowing that space on boats is very limited, the team at Universal looked for the best possible solution. With the one bin policy for mixed recycling, including glass, it made Greenstar the best choice for a recycling partner.
