The Lands End Aerodrome on the Penwith peninsular in Cornwall started operations in 1937 and is one of the oldest and most scenic airfields in the World.

You can only fully appreciate the granite headlands leading to wonderfully green valleys and sandy beaches from the air, ideally on a sunny day. This, together with the proximity of the Isles of Scilly just 28 miles to the West, has made Lands End Airfield a valuable asset to visitors and the local community. Flyers from around the UK and further afield have enjoyed a friendly welcome and stunning views of the peninsular. Many pilots have also learnt to fly from a training facility there.

This NEW paperback book " LANDS END AERODROME - A BIRDS EYE VIEW" is a short history, from its small beginnings in 1937, up until today.

Written by Rose Smith, a popular local who ran the famous "Choxaway Cafe" and David Pitman, also a local who regularly flies into the airfield, it is packed with pictures of all the characters who made flying a success there.
